Ten people were killed on Saturday at a grocery store in Buffalo, New York (northeastern United States) when a gunman opened fire, local daily The Buffalo News reported. citing police sources.
The shooter was arrested and taken into custody.
The man, described by some witnesses as white in his twenties, was equipped with a bulletproof vest and armed with a high-powered rifle. He wore a military helmet on his head and was equipped with a camera. The police are thus trying to find out if he broadcast the scene live on the internet, the local media still reports.
Among the deceased victims is a recently retired Buffalo police officer who worked security at the store. The scene was described as one of rare violence: five bodies were found in the parking lot, and others near the cash registers.
The toll could rise. Three people were also injured, two of them very seriously.
