Reported missing since March 6, 2015, the 25-year-old young man by the name of Rudolph Farias, nicknamed Rudy, was found on June 29, 2023, according to information from CNN released Monday, July 3, 2023. After receiving a call, the Houston Police Department was able to locate Farias who was near a church in the city’s east end. The Houston Police Department spokesman said he did not know where Farias had been for the past eight years. For her part, her mother, Janie Santana, expressed herself through a press release, indicating that her son presented “cuts and bruisesand blood in the hair”and she also clarified that he was in a worrying mental state. “He is receiving the care he needs to overcome his trauma”, she said, grateful to have finally found him. Indeed, Farias does not speak, and he seems unable to communicate with his family. The emergency services also dispatched to the scene, offered to transport the young man to the hospital, but he refused. His mother had thus signed a form refusing the transport of her son, whom she took in charge with the police.
Disappeared after a walk with his dogs
Eight years ago, Farias was then 17 when he walked his two dogs through the streets of Houston. But the young man never returned home. At that time, Texas EquuSearch, a search and rescue organization for missing persons, reported that he suffered from depression, post-traumatic stress and anxiety. Indeed, according to the indications of NEWS published Monday, July 3, 2023, “several years before, Farias had witnessed the death of his brother following a motorcycle accident”leading to disorientation “because he had not taken his medication”. Tim Miller, the organization’s director, has also spoken since Farias’ return: “How could this have happened? We believe in miracles and it was definitely a miracle…I can’t even tell you how many times we researched and how many leads of information came in, but they faded away and suddenly, voila!. A miracle that is however accompanied by many questions about the last eight years that Farias has gone through.
