(Boursier.com) — The producer price index in the United States for the month of March increased by 0.2% compared to the previous month and by 2.1% year-on-year. A good surprise regarding prices on the other side of the Atlantic since the consensus was +0.3% month-on-month and +2.2% year-on-year. Excluding food and energy, the producer price index increased by 0.2%, in line with expectations. Year-on-year, however, it increased by 2.4% compared to 2.3% consensus and +2.1% in February.
