United States: Nancy Pelosi tested positive for Covid-19

In the United States, the Covid-19 invites itself into Joe Biden’s team. After the diagnosis of several members of the presidential cabinet, the speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, also tested positive this Thursday, April 7.

Her spokesperson, Drew Hammill, clarified on Twitter that she was asymptomatic. Aged 82, Nancy Pelosi, according to him, “was tested negative” for the first time, before receiving a second result, this time positive.

He adds that the Speaker of the House of Representatives is “fully vaccinated” and “grateful for the robust protection the vaccine has provided.”

She “will respect the quarantine, in accordance with the directives” of the health authorities and “encourage everyone to be vaccinated and tested”, writes Drew Hammill.

All eyes are now on Joe Biden, as the near-octogenarian President of the United States was seen alongside Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday at an event at the White House.

The head of state could therefore have been exposed to the virus, knowing in addition that two of his ministers and other elected officials, who had participated in a gala dinner in the American capital, were also diagnosed recently. Like Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden presents a complete vaccination schedule: he received a fourth dose of the anti-Covid vaccine on March 30.
