Unlike Tesla – Porsche continues to raise prices

Tesla recently shocked the market with massive price cuts. There was talk of the US brand driving the competition in front of it. Do the other manufacturers have to follow suit now? Obviously not. So Porsche wants to tighten the price screw even further.

Almost all manufacturers have noticeably increased their prices in the last year. The German comparison portal Carwow has identified Skoda as the frontrunner in terms of price increases – the Czechs therefore raised up to twelve percent. In the spring of last year, Tesla even increased the Model 3 in Austria by up to 17 percent. Now Elon Musk’s group has more than reversed the price increases at the time. What can be an incentive for potential customers to buy is a slap in the face for those who bought their Tesla at the higher prices – and are now left with the immense depreciation. Because when you resell, the price reduction is fully reflected. Other, well-known manufacturers keep the prices more stable or at least do not act so erratically in order not to annoy existing customers. At least in Europe. Mercedes has also massively reduced the prices for some series in China. Even if discounts are slowly becoming more fashionable here and delivery times are slowly falling in some cases: the price trend is still pointing upwards. For example, Porsche is said to be facing a significant price jump. According to information from the industry journal Automobilwoche, the Zuffenhäuser want to increase their list prices by up to six percent. But they still don’t allow themselves to be looked at. A spokesman on request: “Price adjustments for the model year change are a standard procedure in the industry. The prices valid for the coming model year are expected to be published in March.”
