Unreal Engine 5: The engine is available for everyone, The Coalition (Gears) unveils a new demo

Epic Games had given us an appointment today to talk to us about theUnreal Engine 5, its new generation engine which should be extremely present in the games to come in the coming years. This will be particularly the case for the new game The Witcherbut also the next tomb Raiderwhich was confirmed during the State of Unreal 2022. This presentation was also intended to show different tools of the engine, and to announce that it was now available for everyone.

The engine is accessible to all

So you can go now to the Unreal Engine 5 website to download the engine, whether you are a developer or not. And just to get your bearings with these new tools, Epic Games makes available a free game, named Lyrawhich comes in the form of a third-person shooter, and which can be customized to better understand the assets available, as well as their in-game effects.

There is also a demo named City Sample, which is not playable, and which is from The Matrix Awakens experience. This time, it is only a question of moving around the environment to better admire the result.

But we also note that The Coalition unveiled a new video representing a demoor rather a cinematic demonstration, made with the Unreal Engine 5. This is not the first time that the studio has experimented with this engine, and what we see here does not represent a game (the video has no therefore nothing to do with a new potential gears).

With all this, Epic Games intends to ensure that its engine is used by as many people as possible, and there is no doubt that this will make budding creators want to get started.
