Unstoppable now supports Ethereum Name Service (ENS) domains

The Unstoppable Domains digital identity platform adds support for Ethereum Name Service (ENS) domain terminations, greatly expanding its Web3 access offering. The company makes it possible to buy sites in .nft, .crypto, .polygon and now .eth. All in order to be able receive more than 300 cryptocurrencies using a single domain name. Unstoppable becomes, according to the company press release, a “one stop shop for Web3 domains”. Explanations.

Unstoppable, what is it?

Unstoppable Domains is a company created in 2018 in San Francisco, which has set itself the goal of connect web2 to web3 through the use of blockchain domain names. A company born from the fertile brains of Matthew Gould, Bogdan Gusiev, Bradley Kam and Braden Pezeshki, the first named being the CEO. Unstoppable Domains are web addresses that can be linked to blockchains. Unlike traditional websites, they do not depend on domain name services (DNS)but rather blockchain-based solutions, known as crypto name services (CNS). These solutions offer human readable crypto domain names, which can be associated with cryptocurrency wallets. This avoids errors in transactions, because all you have to do is communicate your domain name to the sender for the cryptos to arrive directly in the wallet.

ENS domains arrive on the platform

In an effort to attract new users to .eth, Unstoppable now offers these domain names for sale on its unique platform. The company also has added additional features to simplify the acquisition of .eth domain names. For example, it now offers the auto-renewal for Ethereum-based domains. This saves users from having to remember to renew their domain before it expires and thus avoid losing it.

Unstoppable Domains also announced the establishment a vault to store buyers’ domains before they connect them to their wallets. The platform supports Fiat payments allowing customers to purchase domain endings with credit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay as well as cryptocurrencies.

Matt Gould, CEO of the company, said that making it easier for new users to purchase .eth domains will attract customers who are not Web3 natives. “People want to have one place to manage all their Web3 domains across all different platforms. They don’t want to have to think about having to pay with a whole bunch of different types of cryptocurrencies or having 1,000 different wallets which they must follow… it is this user experience that we are aiming for.”

On the downside, while users who purchase an .eth domain from Unstoppable will be able to access ENS integrations, current cardholders will not be able to access Unstoppable integrations at launch. Gould concluded that the company is working on this issue by striving to develop an industry standard through its participation in the Web3 Domain Alliance, an organization that aims to help define what the future of digital will look like in the crypto space. Web3 is obviously the dream of the whole world.
