Unsurprisingly, Google is the most greedy of GAFAM with your personal data

The Mountain View giant engulfs a number of different data more than three times greater than Apple.

A recent report by StockApps reveals the digital giants’ appetite for the personal data of their users. It’s not a scoop, Google would be the most gluttonous company, and Apple, the most frugal.

39 types of data for Google, against 12 for Apple

According to the StockApps study, Google gobbles up 39 different types of personal information per user. Twitter collects 24, and Amazon, 23. Facebook and Apple meanwhile have a more contained appetite, with 14 and 12 types of data respectively. You will have noticed, we talk about GAFAM in the title, but Microsoft does not appear here. So let’s say rather that Google is the most greedy of the “GAFAT”.

The last place on the podium of the apple brand is fitting with its credo. The company’s confidentiality rules are introduced by the sentence: ” Privacy is a fundamental human right, and it’s one of Apple’s core values. According to the author of the report, Apple limits itself to the information necessary to manage user accounts.

Regarding Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg’s social network would mainly store information entered by users themselves.

Overall, the publication reminds that Google’s business model is very dependent on advertising revenue. Consequently, the firm has every interest in capturing a large amount of data, sometimes without your consent, to set up its targeted advertising.
