UNUSUAL: F-Zero, a fan buys Nintendo shares to request the return of the license

nintendo likes to perpetuate its cult licenses over time with sequels and remakes, but some have completely fallen by the wayside, like F-Zero. Fans have been waiting years for a new installment in this super-fast racing game franchise, but nothing is on the horizon.

If most players are content to send messages to the builder on social networks, Momiji went even further. The latter bought last February a hundred shares of nintendofor nearly 35,000 euros all the same, in order to participate in a meeting of shareholders and ask Shuntaro Furukawa directly if a new game F-Zero was on the program. The president of nintendo obviously took the question very seriously, but the answer was not as expected:

It is really complicated to develop new titles and remakes, including sequels, for every Nintendo game that people ask for, but we are very grateful and appreciate our fans’ expectations for our games.

Momiji was obviously a bit disappointed, but he tells Business Insider thatby buying his shares at the beginning of the year, he had no guarantee of being able to ask a question during the meeting. He presents himself as a fan hardcore of nintendoplaying since childhood and particularly appreciating the sensations of speed offered by F-Zero. But you have to settle for similar racing games by other developers, or Mario Kart 8 Deluxeavailable against €43.95 on Amazon.
