Unusual She makes believe that she is expecting a child to benefit from maternity leave, but…

In terms of a scam, Robin Folsom thought he had it all right. This 43-year-old American working in a marketing agency had announced to her boss that she was pregnant to benefit from maternity leave, while she receives 88,500 euros in salary per year, reports the Mirror.

But it was without counting on the vigilance of one of her colleagues who saw her fake belly slipping and falling… However, the bachelor had put conviction into it: after her boss accepted her leave and she announced to all of her colleagues her pregnancy, she had fueled her lie, inventing a romantic relationship with a certain “Bran Otmembebwe”, a previous pregnancy in July 2020, but above all by wearing the famous fake belly.

Not the same baby in all the photos

It was this film prop that aroused the suspicions of one of his office mates, when, in March 2021, he noticed that his lower abdomen gave the impression “of coming off of his body.

But it was only after the so-called birth, when the 40-year-old wanted to show pictures of her newborn, that she was really unmasked: the baby did not have “the same skin tone” on all the photos, so it was not the same.

Scott McAfee, Inspector General for the State of Georgia, summed up the surprising case when he issued his findings on February 18.

False statements and identity theft

He added in particular that Robin Folsom was charged with several counts of misrepresentation and identity theft concerning the father of the baby. “We have found no proof of her existence” specified the investigator, no more than insurance statements or medical acts which would prove that she underwent prenatal examinations and gave birth.

Under the fire of questions, the respondent ended up resigning last October. She will have to appear in court later.
