Already adopted a first time then brought back

Hattie did find owners in December 2020 but they brought her back to the shelter soon after as they were unable to care for her.

To prevent such a situation from happening again, the association is looking for masters, without children, who would ideally reside in a rural area or at least with a spacious and secure garden. They will also be asked to take the dog to dog behavior classes to continue her training and Hattie will have to be the only animal in the household.

“It’s just about finding an experienced home with someone who’s willing to work with her. She loves being around people, but it takes time for her to get to know you. We can’t do things too soon with her,” says the kennel assistant.

The association wants potential adopters to visit the dog at the center several times to bond with her before bringing her home, and that these hundreds of days spent in shelter will be a distant memory.
