LFI deputies announced Wednesday to withdraw their bill on the reintegration of non-vaccinated staff of health establishments, a text that the RN had decided to include on the agenda of its day reserved for the Assembly in January. “The suspended caregivers are not intended to serve the communication blows of the RN”, justified the group in a press release, adding that it would file “a new bill” on the subject.
Marine Le Pen announced on Tuesday the inclusion of this controversial text on the agenda of her “parliamentary niche” on January 12. His examination could therefore have resumed where he had stopped on November 24, during the day reserved for draft evaders. This truncated examination had created great tensions in the Assembly. The united oppositions seemed on the verge of being able to adopt it, but the presidential camp, opposed to this measure, had played for time by extending the debates until midnight, the cut-off time.
The RN, after announcing that it would resume this text without the agreement of LFI, had however failed on Tuesday to obtain that one of its own be appointed co-rapporteur. LFI MP Caroline Fiat thus remaining the sole rapporteur, her group had decided initially to defend it within the framework of the RN niche. “If they want to leave us half of their niche, free to them,” explained the rebellious.
“There will never be an agreement between our group and the far right”
But this decision, decried internally, caused embarrassment within Nupes. “Not that!” Reacted on Twitter the former communist presidential candidate Fabien Roussel, while the first secretary of the PS Olivier Faure had called on LFI not to fall “into this trap with both feet”.
“There has never been and there will never be an agreement between our group and the far right,” insisted the group of rebellious deputies on Wednesday, denouncing “unacceptable lies” on this subject. “With more than 300 amendments to examine, it would take 15 hours of debate to go to the end of the text” and the vote “is therefore impossible” in the niche of the RN, he added.
LFI has therefore announced that it will withdraw “this text unfortunately blocked by government obstruction”. “We will table a new bill, co-signed with the ultramarine deputies of all the political groups who wish it”, he continued.
RN deputy Sébastien Chenu castigated the decision of his opponents. “These rebels prefer their boutique interests to those of the French … that says a lot,” he reacted on Twitter.
