A classic that always enchants with different tying techniques: from the Queen to Grace Kelly, this is how the shawl is styled.

It doesn’t matter whether we say foulard or square: “Square, practical, good” has never been more applicable than with a silk scarf. Our hair definitely shares this view when we protect it with it at night before going to bed. But it’s no secret that this doesn’t have to be hidden in the bedroom, but can be carried out into the wide world. And we have the right inspiration for that.

misappropriation

Of course we can drape our silk scarf around our necks in a classic way. But we can also style it according to our needs! A broken arm didn’t stop the glamorous Princess of Monaco Grace Kelly from celebrating. She simply used her carré as a fashionable one sling: To do this, the two diagonal ends are firmly tied together and placed around the neck like a chain. The arm is then placed in the loop and there is nothing to be seen from the cast, one admires the stylish solution much more. However, a broken leg or neck is not a must! Dusty fashion pieces can also be breathed new life into.

Old bags and trousers

We do without classic belt and instead use a pretty silk handkerchief as a substitute. Since we can knot ourselves, this alternative offers a lot of leeway. To do this, fold it inwards from the side edge until you get your desired width. Do you need even more length then proceed as follows: Fold the two corners lying diagonally in the middle of the cloth. You now get two shortened outer edges. You put this together again in the middle and repeat the process until you get the width you want. Now you should have enough leeway to give your jeans a chic look.

Tie a silk scarf to match your outfit than ribbon around the handles of your bag and always have a little helper with you, because: The new chic is practical. Will whole handle who wants to encase the bag, it is best to use a twilly. These are characterized by the fact that they are particularly narrow and are therefore suitable as an accessory for the hair and wrist. Proceed as follows for the bag: first tie a tight knot at the beginning of the handle. It looks particularly chic when there are 5-10cm of fabric hanging on both sides. Then wrap the silk scarf around the handle. Make sure you pull everything tight so that nothing loosens. At the end, tie in the second knot – and you’re done! This method not only looks stylish, but also protects your bag from wear and tear.

In the hair

Or upside down. Jackie O, Audrey Hepburn, Gwen Stefanie, but also A$AP Rocky show it: This look doesn’t care about gender boundaries. The Carré tied around the head protects the hair and casually gives a glamorous look that calls for a convertible and a city trip. Too much towel? Then try it with subtle accents, for example by using the foulard as a hair tie substitute. As a bow, it not only looks stylish, but also protects our hair at the same time. Whether monochrome or patterned, there is the right cloth for every style.

The right frame

It almost sounds like we’re making a movie… but we’re not! Still, it doesn’t hurt to remember that the right cleavage is everything. And not just on Instagram. As you experiment with your patterned foulard, you’ll be amazed at how many color combinations you can come up with. Sometimes you don’t need a new silk scarf right away, you just have to focus on the right detail.
