The carpooling plan, announced on December 13, 2022, has just been in action since January 1, 2023. This set of government measures is intended to give drivers a stronger incentive to practice regular carpooling. Through 14 measures and financing, this plan aims, by 2027, to reach 3 million carpools daily (900,000 currently) and thus save 4.5 million tonnes of CO2, which represents 1% of greenhouse gas emissions.
Up to €200 cumulative bonus
New carpooling enthusiasts will be able to benefit from a bonus of €100 for long-distance journeys and €100 for daily journeys. The two bonuses can be combined with each other and are obviously added to the compensation for passengers. Thus, the driver will be awarded, in addition to compensation, up to €200 bonus.

The issuance of the bonus comes from the carpooling platform and does not require any additional steps. Concretely, by creating an account on the BlaBlaCar application, and after the usual checks, you will have to make a minimum of three journeys – with at least one passenger – of more than 80 km in three months to benefit from the first bonus of 100 €.
To receive the second bonus of €100, you will have to make 10 trips with BlaBlaCar Daily in three months.
All drivers who start carpooling from January 1 are eligible for these bonuses. Drivers who are already familiar with carpooling will still be able to take advantage of the €100 for daily journeys.
