Upgrade for the ship – Audi Q8 gets super lights – and real tailpipes

Audi is polishing up its SUV flagship Q8 a little. There are attractive additional options, especially when it comes to lighting. There will also be more equipment. At the same time, prices are rising sharply.

New designs for the different radiator grilles and newly designed air inlets ensure visual freshness at the front. Especially on the base model, the underbody protection, door top strips and diffuser are in contrasting colors, while the “S line exterior package” exudes more SQ8 flair. All drive variants also receive exhaust systems with full tailpipes. Lighting technology is also being upgraded. In addition to the optional Matrix LED headlights, there are new HD Matrix LED headlights that also offer blue ambient and laser light. The laser light comes into action from 70 km/h to increase the high beam range. For the top headlights, the user can also choose between four daytime running light signatures. Four digital light signatures are also available for the new, large OLED rear lights. If vehicles approach from behind within two meters, all OLED elements are activated as a warning signal via proximity detection. The seats have gray contrasting stitching on the inside. New decorative inlays are also available. The exterior paint and wheel portfolio has also been expanded. The standard equipment is also upgraded to include 20-inch light alloy wheels, a reversing camera, a convenience key as well as high beam and parking assistant. Third-party apps such as Spotify or Amazon Music can also be integrated into the infotainment system. In the future, there will be four engines to choose from. The six-cylinders are combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission, mild hybrid system and all-wheel drive. The entry-level model is the three-liter V6 diesel 45 TDI with 231 hp. The 286 hp 50 TDI offers more power with the same displacement. The basic petrol engine is the 55 TFSI with 340 hp, which allows the sprint to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds and a maximum of 250 km/h. It takes just 4.1 seconds with the unchanged 507 hp four-liter V8 of the SQ8 TFSI. The market launch is still in September at significantly increased prices, which Audi does not want to announce until the start of sales. (SPX)
