In January, Microsoft agreed to acquire the maker of “Call of Duty” for $68.7 billion, in the biggest deal in gaming industry history.
Microsoft will file for approval of the transaction in 17 jurisdictions, company chairman Brad Smith told reporters last month.
To woo U.S. and other regulators, the company said in February that it had developed a new set of principles for its app store, including open access to developers who meet privacy and security standards.
With Activision’s deal, Microsoft will take on industry leaders Tencent Holdings Ltd and Sony Group Corp. Sony Interactive Entertainment recently announced that it will acquire Bungie Inc., makers of the “Halo” video game, in a deal valued at $3.6 billion.
