US box office: Don’t Worry Darling in the lead and Avatar back on the podium


Olivia Wilde’s film, “Don’t worry Darling” is at the top of the American box office this week. “The Woman King” is in second place on the podium while “Avatar” – released in 2009 – takes 3rd place!

Olivia Wilde’s film, Don’t Worry Darling starring Florence Pugh, Harry Styles and Chris Pine topped the North American box office with $19.2 million in its first weekend of theatrical release.

Released on our screens on Wednesday September 21, the feature film is the chronicle of an isolated community in the Californian desert in the heart of the 1950s, in which a housewife sees her life turned upside down.

Gina Prince-Bythewood’s historical action film, The Woman King garners 11 million additional green tickets and thus cumulates $36 million in receipts on US territory for its second weekend of operation. Carried by Viola Davis, Thuso Mbedu, Lashana Lynch, Sheila Atim and John Boyega, the feature film will be released this Wednesday, September 28 in French cinemas.

The Thriller Spectacular turn of events with Sam Rockwell, Saoirse Ronan and Adrien Brody recorded $1.9 million for a total of $6.65 million.
