US box office: Has Jujutsu Kaisen 0 dethroned The Batman?


Unsurprisingly, The Batman remains in first place at the American box office at the end of the weekend. It is followed by a long-awaited novelty, Jujutsu Kaisen 0, a prequel feature film to the animated series.

The Batman continues its race at the top of the American box office! After a first weekend beyond $128 million, the film starring Robert Pattinson earned an additional $66 million the following week. This time, the film shows a slight drop in speed with 36 million greenbacks collected. In all, he accumulates more than 300 million on American soil. Internationally, it is on the verge of surpassing the 600 million mark.

In ambush behind the Dark Knight, we find the animated film Jujutsu Kaisen 0, eagerly awaited by fans of the series. With receipts amounting to more than 17 million dollars for its first weekend, the work climbs directly into second position. In France, the feature film was also a hit, attracting more than 100,000 fans for its first day of operation.

This week’s real surprise comes from the horror movie Xwhich follows Uncharted with Tom Holland, who remains in 3rd position. X takes us to a remote farm in Texas, where a film crew arrives to make a pornographic film. Their hosts, an old reclusive couple, are particularly interested in their young guests. As night falls, the couple’s interest turns violent.

At the bottom of the table, Spider-Man No Way Home continues to hold its own in the rankings, alongside Death on the Nile Where All on stage 2. After Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and X, a 3rd novelty creates the surprise: The Outfitrising to 8th position.

The story follows Leonard, played by Mark Rylance. He is an English tailor who creates suits on the famous Savile Row in London. But after a personal tragedy, he leaves for Chicago, where he runs a small shop in a difficult neighborhood. There he makes beautiful clothes for the only people in the neighborhood who can afford them, a family of dangerous gangsters.
