Wonka by Paul King with Timothée Chalamet remains at the top of the US box office for the first weekend of 2024 with more than $14 million additional. The feature film has grossed more than $164 million at the North American box office and $465 million worldwide to date.
The only new release of the week to appear in the TOP 10, the horror film Night Swim is placed in second position with 12 million greenbacks collected. The feature film produced by James Wan and Jason Blum does less well than M3GAN, released at the same time last year and also produced by the prolific duo. The film about the demonic cyber-doll collected 30 million for its first weekend on American screens.

Scheduled in our theaters on January 24, the adaptation of the musical The Color Purple falling 3 places and recording 4.7 million dollars at the domestic US box office for a cumulative total of more than 54 million in the USA since its theatrical release on December 25.
