Almost half a year before the presidential elections in the USA, the election campaign between the incumbent President Biden and his opponent Trump is becoming increasingly heated. The political portal Politico reports that Biden is said to have insulted his predecessor in an angry speech.
US President Joe Biden is said to have called Donald Trump a “sick asshole” behind closed doors. That reports that Political portal Politico citing several people from Biden’s inner circle. Biden also said that Trump was a person who took pleasure in the misfortune of others.
Accordingly, the US President complained about Trump to one of the people in his circle. In this conversation he asserted “what a damn asshole the guy” was. These insults don’t necessarily fit with the image of the US Democrat, who rarely attracts public attention with such angry tirades. The White House declined to officially comment on the Politico report.
The anger breaks out
At the beginning of January, the incumbent US President almost let something slip publicly. In the speech on the anniversary of the storming of the Capitol, Biden shot against his predecessor and opponent in this year’s US election campaign. The Democrat was particularly annoyed by Trump’s reaction to an attack against US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her husband.
A 42-year-old man broke into the Pelosi home in 2022 and hit Paul Pelosi with a hammer. Trump then joked about the attack with his supporters at a rally. “And he thinks it’s funny,” the president continued. “He laughed about it. What a sick…” The cheers of the crowd swallowed up the US President’s words.
The ex-president’s jokes about this hammer attack particularly fueled Biden’s anger. According to the people whose conversations with Biden the political portal refers to, Biden’s angry tirade was also a consequence of the storming of the Capitol in January 2021, for which Trump and his supporters are held responsible.
