A few years ago, many iPhone 4S owners were upgrading to iOS 9…

And many of them immediately railed against an iPhone that had become almost unusable…

Apple will have to pay for iOS 9

In 2015, Apple launched the brand new iOS 9, alongside the iPhone 6S. Apple’s mobile operating system was then intended for many iPhones, including the iPhone 4S range. However, many users had quickly regretted their transition to iOS 9. Some even felt that the Apple firm had intentionally altered the performance of their iPhone 4S with this new OS. A class action was then launched in the United States.

Today, the American giant has just agreed to put an end to this litigation, which will allow the plaintiffs to receive financial compensation from Apple. In total, Apple could pay up to 20 million dollars, which will be divided between the various plaintiffs, who will each be able to claim the sum of 15 dollars. Affected customers will be required to submit an official statement on a dedicated website.

The all-new iOS 15, launched late last year with the iPhone 13 line, is also compatible with many older iPhones. The OS can thus be installed on the most recent models, but can also animate the ancestral iPhone 6S, launched in 2015 under… iOS 9.
