USA: net widening of the trade deficit in September


(CercleFinance.com) – The United States’ trade deficit widened to 73.3 billion dollars in September, compared to that of 65.7 billion the previous month (which was revised from an estimate initial $67.4 billion), according to the Commerce Department.

The 11.6% month-on-month increase, larger than expected by the market, reflected a 1.5% rise in imports of goods and services to $331.3 billion, and a 1.1% drop in exports, to 258 billion.
