PARIS, Jan 13 (Reuters) – U.S. producer price inflation slowed more than expected in December compared with November, official statistics showed on Thursday.

The final producer price index came out last month up 0.2% after gaining 0.8% in November, the Labor Department said. Over one year, the increase was 9.7% after an increase of 9.6% over the 12 months to November.

Economists polled by Reuters had forecast an index up 0.4% in December and an increase of 9.8% year on year. (Written by Claude Chendjou)
