USA: UMich index estimated down in March


The morale of American households is deteriorating in March, according to the University of Michigan index, which stands at 59.7 as a preliminary estimate for the current month, compared to 62.8 in February, and while economists were expecting less decline.

In the detail of the UMich survey, the component of consumers’ judgment of their current situation fell by only 0.6% from one month to the next, 67.8, but that measuring their prospects fell by 8, 4% to settle at 54.4.
