It was last September that the Apple brand marketed its new high-end wireless headphones, the AirPods Pro 2. Tested in our columns, the results are clear: these remain unquestionably at the top of the basket , both for their sound quality and for their comfort. If they were initially launched with a Lightning port, serious indications now suggest that a new version, with USB-C port, could soon be offered.
A few days ago, we told you about the new features to come in iOS 16.4. While the new version of the operating system should soon point the tip of its nose, now Twitter user @aaronp613 has discovered two new AirPods references: “A3048” and “A2968”.
A launch for the summer period?
If the information is given to us by the site MacRumors, it is once again the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo that we must thank for the few clarifications that follow. First of all, the latter tells us that these new references refer to a new version of AirPods Pro 2 equipped with a USB-C charging box. It also informs us that mass shipments should take place between the second and third quarters of 2023.
While we don’t know, for now at least, if any other hardware changes will be made to the AirPods Pro 2, we do know that Apple has no plans to replace the Lightning ports on its second and third generation AirPods with USB ports. -VS. Anyway, everything suggests that the AirPods Pro 2 with USB-C could well land in our little ears by the time summer comes.

They remain, for iOS users, the best, quite simply. For other systems, Android in the lead, the technological advantages are still there, but Apple’s excessive closure makes the experience incomplete.
