Usher: Extra-long halftime show at the Super Bowl

Usher, 45, will not only have the honor of providing musical entertainment during halftime at the Super Bowl next Sunday (February 11th). The singer also gets an extra long time for his performance. As he himself confirms to “Entertainment Weekly”.he managed to extend the usual 13 minutes planned for the musical part to 15 minutes.

Usher hopes for magic in Las Vegas

According to Usher, despite the additional two minutes, it was difficult to condense his stage program into a quarter of an hour. In total, half time usually lasts 12 to 15 minutes. “I can’t explain why, but it’s a fun thing that I was able to do and create. This was a big strategic thing that happened between me and my agency,” says Usher.

The Super Bowl halftime show is the moment for him to “finally celebrate” what he has achieved in his 30-year music career. He’s not afraid of being on stage at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. “In this moment, on this night, I can finally celebrate with the belief that I can come to Las Vegas and do something magical.”

Usher is a Rihanna fan

He hopes to leave an impression on his fans and to be able to keep up with his predecessors such as Prince (1958-2016), Michael Jackson (1958-2006), Jennifer Lopez, 54, and Shakira, 47, as well as Beyoncé, 42. But he was particularly inspired by Rihanna, 35, who made a legendary appearance at the Super Bowl last year – complete with a baby bump. “Rihanna’s performance was amazing because of the choreography and the way she did it, making it feel like a concert.”

The final of the American professional football league National Football League (NFL) will take place on February 11th in Las Vegas. The Kansas City Chiefs meet the San Francisco 49ers at Allegiant Stadium to determine the new NFL champion.
