Valérie Hayer in Lille: this phone call from Emmanuel Macron just before the meeting

The kick-off is on. At the end of February, Emmanuel Macron appointed Valérie Hayer as head of the group’s list Renaissance for the next European elections which will take place from June 6 to 9. Following this decision by the Head of State, some of the candidate’s collaborators were not very kind towards her, emphasizing that she “will not burst the screen”. Regardless, the 37-year-old MEP launched her campaign for the European elections this Saturday, March 9, during a first meeting at the Grand Palais in Lille. But, before speaking, Valérie Hayer was able to count on the support of the one who chose her since she received a phone call from Emmanuel Macron, as reported The Sunday Tribunethis Sunday, March 10.

The latter wanted “encourage him verbally”. If the broadcast of a video of the President of the Republic had been considered, this option was quickly abandoned, for fear of eclipsing the head of the presidential majority’s list, explains the newspaper. For this campaign launch, Valérie Hayer was accompanied by Gabriel Attal. Around thirty ministers also made the trip to support the candidate after the pressure from Emmanuel Macron. In front of around 2,500 people, the head of the list passed this first test without a hitch.

Valérie Hayer: this advice she received from Emmanuel Macron

Since she was named head of the majority list for the next European elections, Valérie Hayer has been extremely supported by Emmanuel Macron. Because, if he telephoned her to encourage her before her meeting this Saturday, March 9, this is not the first time that the head of state has given advice to the candidate. During a dinner organized at the Élysée on February 29, which several members of the majority attended, the President of the Republic coached his colleague. “Look good in your sneakers and do things the way you feel !”, he told her, as reported La Tribune Sunday. Advice that she undoubtedly applied during this first meeting marking the start of her campaign for the European elections.
