Lhe summer of 2022 was emblematic of the worsening consequences of climate change. The impacts and risks are increasingly complex and difficult to manage, affecting the lives of billions of people around the world and leading to sometimes irreversible damage to the ecosystems on which we depend. But we have knowledge that shows unequivocally that greenhouse gas emissions, particularly from fossil fuels, are the cause of global warming and these rapid, widespread and intensifying changes.
