Valérie Pécresse denounces the maintenance of the new school year: “The government has chosen sightseeing”

Valérie Pécresse was the guest of RTL this Monday, January 3 in order to know his opinion concerning the organization of the start of the school year. Candidate LR points to the government’s decisions which, according to her, will lead to a “massive disorganization”.

This Monday, January 3 is the start of the school year, just a few days after the end of the year holidays. Interviewed today in RTL, Valérie Pécresse has shown her dissatisfaction with the government’s choices on this subject. “Delaying the start of the school year by a week, that made it possible to absorb the epidemic shock of Christmas and New Year’s Eve and to have a serene return”, castigates the Republican candidate at the microphone of the radio station, “it is not the choice that made the government, he made the choice of visual navigation“. Many French people met during the end of the year celebrations, resulting in “an epidemic acceleration” followed by six days of incubation.

Valérie Pécresse explains that the intention was not to eliminate the first week of school but to postpone it. Especially since this week, teleworking is compulsory. The parents would therefore have been present at home with their children. “It was quite conceivable to organize the care of the children of all the parents who cannot telework”, she clarified, “that is not the choice the government made. He made the choice to warn the parents the day before, the teachers the day before, with a disorganization that will be quite massive“. For the politician, the start of the school year is likely to be very complicated for students and teachers. She concludes the interview by stating that they could have “better prepare” and “to anticipate” this comeback.

Jean-Michel Blanquer’s late announcements about the start of the school year

It is this Sunday January 2 that the new school health protocol was unveiled by the Minister of National Education at 4 p.m., a few hours before the start of the school year. Now, if there is a positive case of coronavirus in a class, each student will have to do three tests over four days in order to continue going to class. For some teachers’ unions, these decisions came much too late, which matches the statements of Valérie Pécresse.
