During a meeting in the North organized on December 10, Valérie Pécresse made a terrible blunder. The candidate LR in the presidential election was indeed the wrong person when paying tribute to a politician swept away by illness.
This is called a big dumpling. On December 10, Valerie Pécresse was traveling up north for a meeting organized at the Salle du Moulin, located in La Madeleine. During this political meeting, the Republican candidate for the 2022 presidential election made a big mistake by starting her speech.
As reported The chained Duck, Valérie Pécresse took the floor by launching: “I share your grief, I know your grief”, before adding: “I wanted to present to you, above all, my condolences after the death of Senator Brigitte Lherbier.” Unfortunately, the president of the Ile-de-France regional council should perhaps have double-checked her information before sending it to the audience because in the room, the person appointed indicated that she was “still there“. The candidate has indeed confused the senator with another of her sisters, Catherine Fournier, who died of cancer on December 7th. Aged 66, she was a centrist senator for Pas-de-Calais and regional councilor for Hauts-de-France. She had also been mayor of Fréthun, after having succeeded her father, René Hochart.
Emmanuel Macron’s tribute to Catherine Fournier
Emmanuel Macron had paid tribute to the latter, the day of her disappearance, in a press release published on the Elysee website. The Head of State first greeted “an exemplary political career “, before addressing “to her husband, her two children, her friends, her colleagues and the inhabitants of Hauts-de-France and Fréthun, in particular, his saddened condolences “.
