In Valheim, the progression is constant and as soon as you explore new areas, you will discover new items. These normally give access to new recipes, in order to unlock even more things for your side or your character. This is, for example, the case with bronze and precious wood, which give you the possibility of building new objects, like this famous fermenter.
How to get the fermenter in Valheim?
If you haven’t unlocked it in your game yet, or just don’t remember how you can get the fermenter recipe in Valheim, know that it is enough to have bronze and precious wood to have the recipe. You can then build it, with the following elements:
- x 30 precious wood
- x5 Bronze
- x 10 resin
You can then place your fermenter wherever you want (using the hammer) knowing that you’ll probably have to build one or two more later. So plan for a fairly large space, especially since it takes put the fermenters in sheltered places to be able to use them.
How to use the fermenter?
But building it isn’t enough, since you have to have cooked, or rather simmered, something before you can ferment it. This all goes through the Cauldron, which is unlocked with the Forge. The latter requires 10 units of tin to build it, quite simply. A campfire must then be placed on it for it to work.
Once the cauldron is up, you will be able to cook mead bases, which will have to be put in the fermenter, for a few days, to become potions. You can, for example, make potions of endurance, life or resistance to poison or cold, ideal for exploring while limiting the dangers.
You can also use the cauldron to cook other very interesting dishes. We also advise you to use it since some recipes are much more interesting than basic foods.
