VALORANT: Yoru’s All-New Complete Rework in Act II Episode 4


We already knew what changes would be made to Yorusince in the first part of the Agents state article on Yoru, published by the developers of VALORANTthe changes that were going to be made to the Duelist had been revealed. We now know that these changes, long awaited by players, will arrive at the same time as Episode 4 of Act II.

I have to say that Yoru really needed a rework. The agent had big problems within its own kit. His E, Surprise Visit was a skill far too difficult to use, making Yoru very vulnerable for a period of time and that didn’t work with the concept of stealth that was the very basis of Yoru. His C, Feint, was also very useless, the footsteps he makes being easily distinguishable from real footsteps by a seasoned ear. Because of these problems, it is not difficult to say that Yoru was the worst agent in the game, despite a few hands which, thanks to their extraordinary game intelligence, still managed to outplay their opponents.

To solve all these little problems that affect Yoru, the developers did not hesitate to make changes where needed. First, Yoru’s C, Feint, is completely changed. Now, instead of just casting shadows of footsteps on the ground, which make a footstep sound after activation, his skill now sends an exact copy of Yoruwhich will move forward making noise, and will flash enemies which will destroy it within a radius of 45°. The skill having much more impact than before, its number of uses per round will decrease from 2 to 1.

When it comes to his E, Surprise Visit, Yoru will now have more options. He now has the possibility of performing a Fake Teleportwhich will make the teleport sound at the location of the beacon, but will not teleport Yoru. This change is intended to amplify a bit more the “mindgame” side of Yoruwhich, although the agent was so designated, was still very predictable. In return, the beacon will deposit on the ground a puddle, letting everyone know that a Fake Teleport has been used. Additionally, Yoru now has two charges within its jurisdictionwhich should make it much more versatile.

Finally, it’s a big rework of his Ultimate which was also done. Yoru will now be completely invisible to enemies when using Dimensional Shift, even passing nearby, but will now also be able to use his other skills while under Ultimate. The enemies will however hear Yoru’s footsteps so as not to be completely lost. What’s more, myopia effect that this skill produced is now removed, loading the weapon when exiting the Ultimate is increased to prevent moments when a Yoru pops up out of nowhere with a shotgun and takes out an enemy who couldn’t do anything. Finally, the skill charge time is slightly increased, to avoid invulnerability at launch.

With all these changes, Yoru should therefore obtain a more concrete utility in game. Players have been waiting for this rework for a very long time, which gives them great pleasure. Now all we have to do is wait Episode 4 of Act II to finally be able to get your hands on these changes, which are likely to give Yoru a second wind.
