On Friday, the Verdi strike is already making travel more difficult for many commuters, and there are also unscheduled route closures in West Germany. Deutsche Bahn has to reroute trains, others are canceled completely. Wanton destruction is said to be the reason for this.
There are currently disruptions in long-distance transport at Deutsche Bahn. The company cites damage caused by vandalism as the reason. The railway initially did not provide any further information. The route between Cologne and Frankfurt am Main is currently particularly affected.
On the Deutsche Bahn service page it is said that individual ICE trains are already being redirected. This delayed the journey time by around 90 minutes. Many stops are not served, including Cologne/Bonn Airport. Some trains would also be canceled without replacement, it is said. It is unclear how long the impairments will last.
Due to the Verdi strike in local public transport, the number of passengers has also increased, the railway informs its customers. Passengers should therefore check apps and the website regularly and keep up to date with the current situation. The train connection has been lifted. Seat reservations can be canceled.
