Sadly, the pay-to-win policy seems to be confirmed little by little in Call of Duty, and more particularly here in Call of Duty Vanguard. While the title of Sledgehammer Games offers a good range of about forty weapons, players also have the opportunity to crack for some variants (weapon blueprints) available in the game store.
However, one of them poses a serious problem and therefore concerns double barrel shotgun, this ultra powerful pump.
The Savage Marble double cannon is a problem for Vanguard players
As you can see from the screenshots above, but also as pointed out M4GIX on the Reddit forum, the “basic” double-barreled shotgun cannot benefit from the Akimbo perk in addition to the barrel attachment. This is a desire on the part of Sledgehammer Games so that the weapons remain fair to each other, even if the double barrel remains overpowered.
From the moment you decide to put the Akimbo asset on the latter, the “cannon accessory” slot becomes inaccessible. However, despite this restriction, its variant still benefits from the barrel accessory with “SMLE pistol grip” which then brings an improved rate of fire in sprint and better accuracy of hip fire.
Being able to take advantage of both of these weapons is bound to make players stronger than ever, and many users weren’t shy about pointing the finger at the studio for breaking its own rules.
This is not the first time that the license has had to face pay-to-win. This was already the case in Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific with the arrival of Black Ops Cold War and one of its weapons: the MAC-10.
As a reminder, it took advantage of a variant that allowed players to kill enemies by shooting only in the feet, with damage perceived as if it were shots in the head.
Since season 1 of Call of Duty Vanguard and Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific, new weapons have naturally appeared, and it is since mid-season that a new submachine gun has joined the arsenal of war, the Welgun.
