Vaseline for long, curved eyelashes? The BRIGITTE editorial team tested it!

Every now and then a new eyelash hack pops up in our social media feeds and we rightly ask ourselves: Can this really be true? In this case, the good old vaseline should make our eyes irresistible. Actually, the petroleum-based ointment-like product is perfect for locking in moisture on the skin: it keeps lips supple and dry spots disappear overnight. But what effect does it have on the eyelashes? The BRIGITTE editorial team tested it!

If you apply Vaseline to your eyelashes with an eyebrow brush, you should curl them with an eyelash curler for the whole day. Even the mascara should be replaced by it! Unfortunately, in practice, this curved effect does not last longer than without Vaseline. Nevertheless, we wanted to give her another chance: We applied a very thin layer to the eyelashes, waited a moment and then washed with mascara. In fact, a lengthening and voluminous effect was noticeable! The petroleum jelly gives the lashes substance and grip, so that the best out of the mascara can be achieved. However, even on the second try, we can’t tell that the momentum lasts longer.

In general, however, caution is advised with Vaseline. Since it is made from petroleum, which is not easily biodegradable, we advise you to use another occlusive product based on natural oils. It has also been established that petroleum products are potentially carcinogenic if they enter the body through the mouth or, for example, the eye. In this case, you can use natural cosmetic products that are always mineral oil-free.

“She’s back” – Puma announces another Rihanna collaboration

Rihanna celebrates the comeback of the year not only musically, but also fashionably; with the announcement of a renewed collaboration with Puma. The singer was appointed creative director of the brand in 2014. The cooperation Fenty x Puma resulted from the successful cooperation. The collections included ready-to-wear pieces and shoes. Despite the great success of the cooperation, the cooperation was not continued after the presentation of the spring 2018 collection.

Meanwhile, Rihanna was planning her own fashion collection with the luxury goods group LVMH, but this was put on hold in 2021. Instead, she started with her beauty brand Fenty Beauty. After years of standstill around Fenty x Puma, it is all the more surprising that Puma is now announcing a comeback of the joint line. No further information is known about the new collection, but it will certainly build on the success of that time.
