Venom 3 has great news, but no one wants it!

This Marvel hero is coming back to the movies and no one wants him. However, it is popular and highly appreciated among fans. This is perhaps what hurts my heart the most.

For several years, we’ve been eating superhero films in every way. Marvel is the great champion in this area. What was an excellent idea at the start, namely to create a gigantic connected universe with solo films for several heroes then event feature films by bringing them all together, ended up atrophying and is, at present ‘today, more than a shadow of himself. DC Comics, for its part, rushed things a bit by trying to set the bar very high from the start. Bad luck, it completely collapsed and no film, except Man of Steel, was able to turn things around. Hoping things improve with the next one Superman led by James Gunn, the new king of the DCU. And then there is the outsider, Sony which, from the height of its few rights to the Spider-Verse, said to itself that it had a few cards to play to create a universe of its own. Unfortunately, he still hasn’t succeeded in his poker move, not even with Venom, whom he squeezes like a lemon.

Sony wants to release its next superhero film faster than expected

Since Marvel and Disney managed to repatriate part of the franchise under their flag and pushed Tom Holland to become the weaver for their MCU, Sony has been grumbling in its corner and has not been able to get its licenses off the ground. Morbius is a bitter failure, Madame Web wallowed miserably, the next Spider-Mans were nipped in the bud after Amazing Spider-Man 2, Tobey Maguire has back problems and Venom has parasitized us with two films and he hasn’t finished yet! And yes, the symbiote hangs on.

However, the first film was not a big success and the second is considered one of the worst films of the genre, a real disaster. However, Sony is not giving up and a Venom 3 will indeed be released in cinemas, still with Tom Hardy, but this time it could be his last turn. The film has just found its final name and is now called Venom 3: The Last Dance. The villain even tells us very good news since its release date has been brought forward. Venom 3 will be released in theaters in October 2024! The fans will be happy, the problem is that not many of them are waiting for a sequel.

Carnage in Venom 2… real carnage

Venom, a beloved and popular hero, but bad films

Warning, there are spoilers regarding the MCU and the Spider-Verse!

Why a sequel anyway? Money to throw out the window? A desire to kill the license once and for all? We ignore it and no one really understands why a Venom 3 is in the works. Seen from here, the only thing that could explain a new feature film is a surprise. We know that since Spider-Man No Way Home, the different Spider-Verses have collided, a post-credits scene also says hello to Venom who, for a time, finds himself in Tom Holland’s universe and even leaves a little piece of symbiote when leaving. So could there be a connection with this or maybe Sony just wants to take advantage of this small opening offered by the success of No Way Home to regain the trust of its fans. Lately we have also heard a lot about a Spider-Man 4 by Sam Raimi, which could also help this Venom 3 to relaunch a machine which unfortunately never really got off the ground. We will see, for now, Venom 3 is well on its way.

The spectators are for their part rather skeptical, if not totally against. Nobody seems to want it, in France or abroad. A quick glance at the networks is enough to see to what extent the franchise has convinced almost no one. It is therefore difficult to imagine what the reception will be like. All the harm we wish for him is that he succeeds where the two previous films and all others of the genre have failed. Unfortunately until now, the symbiote has always parasitized itself despite its monstrous potential. Yes, words are hard, but feature films are also hard to watch unfortunately
