Vergnet: progress in its diversification strategy in Asia-Oceania – 03/20/2024 at 09:53

(AOF) – The Vergnet group announces the last phase of its diversification strategy in the Asia-Oceania region. The group is taking a new step with the introduction of a major innovation: the installation of domestic hot water (DHW) systems powered by photovoltaic solar energy. This system, already in place in 20 residences with 60 others currently being equipped, illustrates its commitment to integrating sustainable and economical energy solutions into daily life.

The project involves the installation of photovoltaic panels to power solar water heaters, representing a significant step forward in energy optimization. The preliminary audits in Wallis & Futuna as well as in New Caledonia made it possible to identify specific needs and formulate targeted recommendations for improving the energy performance of administrative buildings.

The total investment amount amounts to nearly 373,000 euros for the deployment of photovoltaic solar ECS.

The challenges of water recycling

According to a report from the World Economic Forum, demand for water will jump by 55% by 2050. However, only 11% of water is recycled globally, with strong disparities depending on the country: if this rate reaches 89% in Israel, it falls to 15% in Spain. It is even less than 1% in France! The Veolia manager, however, believes that the rate of 10% targeted for 2030, as part of the new Water plan announced by the authorities, is achievable under certain conditions. At the forefront is administrative simplification. Veolia is committed to tripling its production of recycled water by 2030 to bring it to 3 billion m3. In this area, the world leader in environmental services strengthened its know-how during its takeover bid for the former Suez group.
