On the 18th birthday of her son San Diego, Verona Pooth said goodbye: He wants to be a professional golfer and moved to the USA. He is now also making a career as a model. At GALA, the advertising icon talks about her son’s new life and becomes visibly emotional.
Diego Pooth, the son of Verona, 54, and Franjo Pooth, 53, was already standing on red carpets at a young age, and at the age of 15 he was already on RTL, Vox and Sat.1 on German television. Now he is 18 years old and is starting a second career as a male model alongside golf.
For this, the teenager left his parents’ house and moved to the USA. Saying goodbye to her son was difficult for the advertising icon. In the new episode of GALA, Verona gives an insight into the new life of her adult offspring.

Instead of Annika Lau, 43, who is absent due to illness, Annett Möller, 44, welcomes Verona Pooth on the GALA couch. And she’s completely over the moon at the sight of her son beaming at her on the screen. “I looked in and thought that doesn’t exist. I don’t even know my son like that. Especially so chic!”, She says enthusiastically. The fitness queen sees her son on the cover of the fashion magazine for the first time. Diego himself did not count on his success as a model: “I’m so proud of him. But I’m actually so proud of him because he never believed in it. He always said: ‘Mom, there are so many beautiful people on this one World, why should you take me as a model now, I’m an athlete!'”

The proud mother starts chatting with Annett and also reveals: “Diego has found a girlfriend”. She is a tennis player, Verona continues, after all there are only golfers and tennis players at Diego’s school. During a visit to Tampa, Florida, she was also able to meet her son’s new girlfriend. “Very cute! Blonde hair, big blue eyes, very well trained. Keep on the way, with the dream of becoming a professional tennis player one day,” said the 54-year-old about the ambitious young woman.

The TV face is not worried that her son could lose sight of his goal. “Diego can be seen on the golf course and the whole workload there is actually just school and everyone does their sport for eight hours and the lights go out there at eleven anyway. They really live in the wilderness there!”
