It’s the Pixar of 2024! 9 years after Vice-Versa by Pete Docter and Ronaldo Del Carmen, Riley and his emotions Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Fear and Anger are back for a great adventure!

For this sequel, let’s focus on… the transition to adolescence. This will trigger a major upheaval within the headquarters which must face something unexpected: the arrival of new emotions. And among them: Anxiety, which we have already discovered in the first trailer for the feature film.

The new images revealed today allow us to discover Riley’s two other new emotions: Envy and Boredom.

Adèle Exarchopoulos to the original voice casting!

If Amy Poehler (Joy), Lewis Black (Anger), Phyllis Smith (Sadness), Tony Hale (Fear) and Liza Lapira (Disgust) return to service 9 years after the first opus, the new emotions will have the original voices of Maya Hawke (Anxiety), Ayo Edebiri (Envy), Paul Walter Hauser (Embarrass) and… Adèle Exarchopoulos (Boredom).

New emotions

You read correctly, our national Adèle Exarchopoulos lends her voice to Ennui in the original version of the feature film. After having dubbed Flam in the French version of Élémentaire from Pixar studios, the actress will be the original voice of one of Riley’s new emotions.

Ennui doesn’t care about anything. Jaded and lethargic, with a well-practiced eye roll, she adds – depending on her mood of the moment – a perfect dose of adolescent apathy to Riley’s personality.

Vice Versa 2: a predicted success?

When it was launched last November, the first trailer for Vice-Versa 2 was viewed more than 150 million times in 24 hours, surpassing the record broken by the first video for Frozen 2, the animated film the most profitable ever.

Vice Versa 2 is clearly one of the most anticipated films of 2024, which we discuss among others here in podcast (and in an article here).

The first film released on June 17, 2015 had recorded more than 4.5 million admissions in France. Worldwide, it collected $858 million in revenue.

Directed by Kelsey Mann (who notably worked on Monsters Academy and Onward), the feature film which will immerse us in the head of the teenager is expected in our cinemas on June 19.
