Lake Neufeld in Burgenland was the scene of a serious diving accident on Saturday. According to the state security center (LSZ) Burgenland, two men – 60 and 45 years old – had to be taken to the state hospital and university clinic in Graz at midday.
The divers had to be brought to Graz with the “Christophorus 16” helicopter and the intensive care transport helicopter (ITH) because there is a pressure chamber there. The emergency is said to have occurred when the men showed up, according to the police. However, there are no further details about the accident. According to the LSZ, in addition to the helicopters, the Red Cross and the Samaritan Association, each with an ambulance, as well as the water rescue service and the police were deployed.
