On Twitter, a hahstag is gaining momentum. Many Internet users have decided to break the silence and denounce the lack of support from their school when they were harassed.

#BalanceTonBahut is a hashtag used by more and more people on Twitter. They were all victims of bullying during their school years. Insults, intimidation, humiliation, punches, sexism, sexual assault… The testimonies are chilling. But what emerges more from these experiences is the lack of consideration on the part of their college or high school. The management, in the face of so much violence, has often remained silent. Many have played down heinous acts, leaving the torturers with complete impunity. The testimonials are similar. Supervisors, childcare centers and school directors blame the victims, make them feel guilty and defend the aggressors. According to them, it is better to maintain a good image of the establishment, at the risk of putting the lives of victims in danger. Others say that punishing these students would deprive them of a bright future.

Because of this lack of consideration, the victims had a broken childhood and adolescence. Some speak of their suicide attempt in the isolation they found themselves in. Many also explain the trauma caused by these terrible experiences. You never come out unscathed from school bullying. The psychological consequences are important and we often develop a school phobia capable of ruining our lives. This is at the risk of not going to class any longer, of dropping out of school, of losing social relations to the point of jeopardizing one's own chances of success.

This hashtag lifts the veil on a real problem: the inability of school administrators to support victims, listen to them and punish the aggressors. Despite the complaints and the evidence, they routinely get away with little, if any, retaliation. #Balancetonbahut breaks the silence, denounces the flaws in the National Education system and sounds the alarm on this scourge. Sometimes it is even adults who harass, humiliate and assault. Some Internet users, victims of tyrannical adults, deliver frightening experiences. We let you judge for yourself:
