Motorcycle star dies at just 22 years old

Motorcycle racer Victor Steeman died on Tuesday at the age of 22 following a racing accident.

Victor Steeman (2000-2022) is dead. The aspiring motorcycle racer died aged just 22 from serious injuries sustained in a crash on Saturday in the Supersport 300 World Championship. That was the Dutchman’s family in a statement released by WSBK promoter Dorna. “Something that parents of motorcycle racers used to fear has now happened. Our Victor couldn’t win that last race,” it says.

Victor Steeman’s organs save five lives

Despite the “unbearable loss and grief,” Steeman’s family is “very proud” that his organs saved five lives and say they will miss Steeman “hugely.” After his accident at the WSBK event in Portimao, the motorcycle racer was treated on the race track and flown out to the hospital in Faro by helicopter.

He suffered polytrauma and severe head injuries. The 22-year-old succumbed to these injuries on Tuesday. In his short career, Steeman won five World Championship races and took pole position six times.
