VIDEO – “I refused so I no longer work”: who are the 5 million unvaccinated?

They are still more than 5 million and the government is doing everything to convince them, even to force them. Among these unvaccinated, some are fierce opponents of vaccination, while others are only skeptical of anti-Covid-19 sera. The 20H of TF1 and LCI have met some.

Some of these reluctant people regularly proclaim their radical opposition to vaccination, as LCI filmed on January 3, during a rally in front of the National Assembly. “Now they are going to park us, prevent us from going to see our children. Me, I will no longer be able to take the TGV, no longer be able to do anything. We cannot imagine tyranny”, then released a woman in reference to the upcoming entry into force of the vaccination pass.

Among them, there are also activists with whom it is sometimes difficult to discuss. “We kill with this experimental injection, we kill children, we kill everyone”, thus estimated, with vehemence, a woman questioned again by Paul Larrouturou, journalist of LCI.

Far from this tumult, Christophe agreed to explain to us his choice not to be administered the vaccine. For the past four months, he has given up on his nursing work and on his social life. He is not opposed to vaccination, but feels he does not need it.

“Since my state of health is rather good, I do not have a favorable benefit-risk ratio to be vaccinated. It was imposed on me as part of my work. I refused so I no longer work”, he says.

Health professional, Christophe lives in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, one of the departments, with Corsica and Seine-Saint-Denis, where 20 to 30% of the French are not vaccinated. In Seine-Saint-Denis, precisely, the journalists of TF1 met some inhabitants, Wednesday January 5, who do not want to be vaccinated.

“I have health problems, so I’m afraid that with the vaccines something will happen to me”, a man tells us. A woman, she explains having “good health and not at all want to [se] to inoculate something that is likely to [la] screw up “.

Carina is 26 years old. Unvaccinated, she lost her job. “I’m scared. I don’t really know what’s in the vaccine. It’s true that I didn’t inquire about it. But I’ve heard a lot of things, positive and negative, in the media.”, she said at the microphone of the 20H of TF1.

More than five million French people are not vaccinated. The 30-49 year olds, as well as those over 75, are the least convinced, far ahead of the other age groups. But they are numerous every day to take the plunge: 66,000 Wednesday, January 5, a record since October.
