VIDEO – “I wanted my parents to be proud”: Booder, this other profession for which he was destined

Booder thought his destiny was already mapped out. With his new one-man show, the 45-year-old comedian is preparing to make his loyal audience laugh out loud in the four corners of France. If he establishes himself as one of the greatest comic figures, father of the family didn’t expect to have such a career. Guest on the set of the show Clickbroadcast this Wednesday, December 6 Canal+Booder revealed thathe aspired to become an accountant. “I had this desire. I wanted to work in a job that is not far from heating, in an office, to be comfortable”, he first explained with his legendary sense of humor. Before continuing: “I wanted my parents to be proud of me and that I could help them.”

To achieve this professional objective, the one who overcame serious health problems in his childhood then followed studies and validated “a DEUG AES management option.” “I was really good at accounting”, he assured Pauline Clavière. Despite this diploma in his pocket, Booder did not “never found work”. “I was competent at the time but my last name, my first name, my head perhaps and my origins, the neighborhood where I grew up, it was getting late for them and it was getting complicated.”, he explained without tongue in cheek. However, Booder has no ill will towards the people who didn’t hire him. “I thank all the people who did not take me and who did not accept me into their society (…) thanks to them I am here in front of you this evening”, he concluded philosophically.

Booder: this meeting that turned his life upside down

Booder calls him his “artistic dad”. If today he is a comedian recognized by his peers, he owes it largely to Mouss Diouf. Thanks to the actor, who died on July 7, 2002, Booder learned “professionalism”, “the serious” and was able to make his debut in this environment. He was the only one, when I started, who reached out to me. He put my foot in the door”, he revealed to the host. Valuable help for which Booder is extremely grateful.

On the set, the actor of the film Neuilly his mother ! couldn’t help but return a poignant tribute to his mentor. “I truly was with him until his last breath. I hope wherever he is is proud of me. It was really him who believed in me.”, he declared, very moved. Before returning to a sentence from Mouss Diouf which still resonates in his head: “He told me: ‘I don’t have a lot of money to produce you but if it works, we’ll laugh. And if it doesn’t work, we laugh.’ (…) I was fascinated by this guy with a huge heart.” An unfailing support that had a profound impact on Booder.
