Telegram
left us with a bang in 2021 with an update loaded with new features. The publisher continues its monthly rhythm by publishing version 8.5 of its messaging app
on desktop and smartphones
.

And among the novelties of the day, we note an extreme simplification of the process of adding stickers (stickers) video in the application.

Telegram simplifies video stickers

The decals, difficult to do without. Used as a reaction to messages, or simply to signify one’s membership in a particular community, they are nevertheless quite complex to add to one’s collection. So the majority of users will prefer to download ready-to-use packs.

Aware that the process of creating stickers, animated moreover, is tedious, Telegram puts things flat in version 8.5. Starting today, it will be possible to add animated stickers obtained from simple videos. And to ensure better access to functionality, the editor allows the use of videos exported from almost any editing program. As simple as it is.

In its user manual, Telegram explains that all you need is a video exported in .webm format and equipped with an alpha channel (for transparency). However, the other criteria remain unchanged: decals must be exported in 512 x 512 pixels, not exceed 3 seconds and 256 kb. All information can be found on the Telegram site.

Reactions are improving (already)

Available for only a month, reactions to messages are improving on Telegram.

First, the publisher announces that new reactions are added to the few launched last month. We can now dress up the messages of his exchanges with the following reactions ?????.

New: these same emojis can also be used in their animated form. All you have to do is send them into a conversation and admire the result (always quite visually charged).

Finally, note that it is now possible to quickly switch from one conversation to another by keeping your finger pressed on the “back” button. At least if you’re the type to get lost in conversations or drawer channels. Indeed this feature only works in the form of a “tree”, for example if you access a message transferred from a conversation or a channel. Quite anecdotal, then.
