Vikings: what happened to Alexander Ludwig since the end of the series?

What has become of Alexander Ludwig, interpreter of the warrior Bjorn, since the “Vikings” series ended in 2020?

SPOILERS – Warning, the article below reveals potential spoilers. If you don’t want to know the content, please don’t read the following…

Two years ago, after having lent him his features for the last 5 seasons of the Vikings series, Alexander Ludwig said goodbye to Bjorn Lothbrok. An essential character in the show created by Michael Hirst, eldest son of the famous Ragnar, this brave and formidable warrior had an end worthy of his legend in episode 10 of season 6.

Mortally wounded by his brother Ivar, he thus offered himself a last stand of honor on the battlefield, facing the terrible army of Oleg, and finished sword in hand, riddled with arrows, facing his enemies.

But what happened to his interpreter? Since the end of the series, the Canadian actor Alexander Ludwig has continued his career as an actor, while varying the pleasures and also giving free rein to his second passion to start a musical career.

Indeed, after having already released a few titles in 2021, he has just unveiled his second album entitled Highway 99, and in which he shines as a country music singer. A rather surprising new string which is therefore added to the bow of the one we were more used to seeing with a hatchet in hand.

On the side of the screens, Ludwig has not wasted his time either. Just before the end of Vikings, we could see him on the poster of the war film Midway, directed by Roland Emmerich, and centered on the Pacific campaign, after the debacle of Pearl Harbor. He then lent a hand to Bad Boys Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in the third installment of the saga released in 2020.

Since he finally sheathed Bjorn’s sword, Alexander Ludwig lends his features to Ace Space, a professional wrestler who finds himself confronted by his brother in the ring, in the series Heels broadcast on Starz.

History

Also present in the cast of the fantastic thriller Night Teeth on Netflix, he will soon join the ranks of Guy Ritchie’s next film, expected on Amazon Prime Video. Entitled The Interpreter, this new feature film will notably feature Jake Gyllenhaal, against a backdrop of the war in Afghanistan.
