The death of little Grégory Villemin continues to fuel rumors. For more than 30 years, the French have been passionate about this affair which mixes tragedy with mystery. In the fall of 1984, when the body of the 4-year-old boy was found bound hand and foot in the cold waters of Vologne (Vosges), the police accused Bernard Laroche, cousin of Grégory’s father, Jean-Marie Villemin of murdered the boy. Released some time later, he was killed on March 29, 1985 by a gunshot by Jean-Marie Villemin. The family is destroyed and drama accumulates for the parents of little Grégory.

In 1985, when the family received letters from a mysterious crow, graphological analyzes were made and certain journalists of the time suggested that the hand behind these threatening letters was actually Christine Villemin, the mother. This announcement was a real shock and then the unthinkable happened: “They (Jean-Marie and Christine Villemin, editor’s note) were in the car and they heard a news flash saying that the writing expertise had been returned. The journalist said: ‘The crow could be the mother’. She has an immediate physical reaction. She was pregnant with twins.” and add: “She hemorrhaged and was hospitalized. She loses one of the two children“. A drama that takes place a few weeks after Grégory’s death.
Christine Villemin accused of the murder of her son Grégory
Fate continued to befall the mother of the family. The same year, she was picked up by the police, convinced that they had committed infanticide. Christine Villemin then finds herself imprisoned for 11 days, before being released. Jean-Marie Villemin will kill his cousin a few days later before confessing his crime to his wife, then to the police.
A couple who have lived through terrible tragedies, but who have remained united: “I saw a young couple for whom Grégory was everything. He was the child king. This couple, it happens to him the worst thing in a parent’s life is seeing your only child murdered. It’s terrible“said the lawyer. Despite the difficulties, the Villemin spouses had three children and are continuing their efforts to discover the truth about Grégory’s murder.
