Vin Diesel in Avatar 3? The producer responds

In 2019, Vin Diesel’s presence on the set of the Avatar sequels set social media ablaze. Simple courtesy visit or real commitment to the saga? Producer Jon Landau has finally put an end to these hallway noises.

More than three years ago, Vin Diesel, star of the Fast & Furious saga, stirred up social networks by posting a video with James Cameron.

The two men were on the set of the sequels to Avatar! It was enough for the rumor to swell: Vin Diesel will be one of the protagonists in the future films of the franchise.

“I’ve spent some time with James Cameron but haven’t filmed anything yet. I love the director and I love Avatar. I can safely say we’ll be working together”, declared then the interpreter of Dominic Toretto, feeding even more the noises of corridor.

However, at the exit of La Voie de l’eau on December 14, no trace of the 55-year-old actor. Asked by Variety, producer Jon Landau silenced the rumors: no, Vin Diesel will not play in the Avatar sequels.

Vin is a fan of the saga. He visited us on set and the audience went wild, taking his statements out of context.

“Vin is a fan of the saga. He visited us on set and the audience went wild, taking his statements out of context”, clarified Landau. If he will not tread the lands of Pandora, Diesel will be driving the gleaming cars of Fast X on May 17 at the cinema.

As a reminder, The Way of the Water takes place more than a decade after the events related in the first film. The work tells the story of the members of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri and their children), the trials they face, the paths they must take to protect each other, the battles they must carry out to stay alive and the tragedies they endure.

Avatar 2 has already attracted over 11 million viewers in France. Internationally, it has garnered nearly $2 billion in revenue.
