End of suspense for the general management of Anssi. The general engineer of mines Vincent Strubel was appointed Wednesday, January 4 at the head of the cyberfire of the State, on the proposal of the Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne. This polytechnician succeeds the armaments engineer Guillaume Poupard, who has just joined the 1er January Docaposte as Deputy Managing Director in charge of international development.
Pure agency product
In addition to the desire to move quickly, with a very short vacancy for general management, the executive favored the choice of a connoisseur of the agency to steer its action. A graduate of Télécom Paris, Vincent Strubel is indeed a pure product of Anssi. He began in 2005 as an expert in operating systems security within the central information systems security department (DCSSI), the agency’s ancestor.
The future general manager then rose through the ranks by becoming head of the hardware and software architecture laboratory, then head of the scientific and technical division before being appointed in 2014 Deputy Director Expertise, one of the four sub-departments of the Anssi, a high position in the organization chart.
In 2020, Vincent Strubel left Anssi to take over the management of the Operator of classified interministerial information systems (Osiic). But the executive remains very close to the agency. And for good reason: this new structure is also under the supervision of the General Secretariat for Defense and National Security.
Structured largely around the agency’s former digital sub-division, the new organization aimed to allow Anssi to refocus on defense and prevention. The agency’s 600 agents, a rapidly growing workforce since its creation in 2009, are responsible for providing their expertise and technical assistance in cybersecurity to the most critical administrations and companies.
