By removing PayPal from its platform, Vinted has alienated many users.

Many are worried about an increase in scams and are considering quitting the famous online marketplace.

PayPal and Vinted, it’s over!

A thunderclap for Vinted users, since the platform confirmed this Thursday, May 25, the end of its collaboration with PayPal. In the process, this very popular means of payment for Internet users was removed from the platform, in favor of credit cards, Apple Pay and iDEAL.

On its platform, Vinted indicates: “ Unfortunately, we no longer support payments via PayPal. We invite you to use one of our other payment methods to pay for your order. What trigger anger and misunderstanding among users of the platform.

No more PayPal, no more Vinted?

Those who had linked their PayPal account to their Vinted account are therefore invited to use another means of payment today for their future purchases. For many customers, PayPal acted as an additional guarantee of protection against the many scams that plague Vinted (and elsewhere).

Indeed, victims of a Vinted scam who had paid with PayPal could take advantage of the American giant’s purchase protection, in addition to Vinted support, otherwise less reliable and responsive. At this time, Vinted has not explained the reason for PayPal’s withdrawal.

Remember that the protection offered by Vinted, charged at 70 cents plus 5% of the price of the item, promises in the texts a refund in the event of non-delivery, receipt of a damaged item, or if an item does not match its description.

However, many users consider this Vinted protection catastrophic and support PayPal by simply leaving the platform.
